Pakistan, Norway sign climate cooperation agreement in Islamabad

Pakistan and Norway have signed their first bilateral climate finance agreement in Islamabad, opening the way for stronger cooperation and greater investment in clean energy and climate-related sectors.

Pakistan and Norway have signed their first bilateral agreement on climate finance, marking a step toward boosting investment in clean energy under the Paris Agreement.

The agreement was signed in Islamabad under the auspices of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Musadik Malik said the deal would open a pathway for stronger international cooperation and increased investment in climate-related sectors.

Norway’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Per Albert Ilsaas, said the agreement signalled a new phase in environmental cooperation between the two countries.
