Jamaat-e-Islami pledges green clean Bangladesh

Jamaat-e-Islami has launched a 41-point election manifesto promising a green, clean Bangladesh by 2030, focusing on zero pollution, waste reduction, safe food and climate resilience with youth and women leadership.

Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday unveiled a 41-point election manifesto centered on environmental sustainability and safe food security ahead of the country’s 13th parliamentary polls. Party chief Shafiqur Rahman presented the plan at Hotel Sheraton in Dhaka’s Banani area, highlighting the party’s commitment to a green and clean Bangladesh by 2030.

The party, contesting as part of an 11-party coalition, emphasized youth leadership, women’s safety and a technology-driven society alongside environmental goals. Among its flagship pledges is the Three Zero Vision, targeting zero environmental degradation, zero waste and zero flood risks, alongside ensuring fully contamination-free food for all citizens.

Shafiqur Rahman said, “Our manifesto reflects Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to a sustainable, inclusive and environmentally responsible Bangladesh, where youth and women are at the forefront of governance.”

The manifesto also covers social and technological development, implementation of the July Charter and the abolition of fascist structures, aligning national priorities with global climate and sustainability goals.
