A mobile court in Khagrachhari fined an illegal brick kiln Tk 100,000, highlighting ongoing enforcement efforts against unlawful brickfield operations that contribute to environmental degradation and air pollution.
A mobile court fined an illegal brick kiln Tk 100,000 in Khagrachhari‘s Guimara upazila on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The drive was carried out in the Bailyachhari area by Upazila Administration Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Miskatul Tamanna over the unlawful operation of the brick kiln.
At around 4:00 pm, Md Hanif Mia, representing Messrs Medina Brickfield, was fined under Section 16 of the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013.
Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Miskatul Tamanna confirmed the operation.
“We imposed a fine of Tk 100,000 under the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act,” she said.
