Consultations aim to bring youths, women, informal workers, persons with disabilities and climate-frontline communities into Bangladesh’s planning for implementation-ready just transition measures under national climate policies.
Bangladesh’s Department of Environment is developing the Just Transition chapter of the NDC 3.0 Implementation Plan, the National Just Transition Policy and the LT-LEDS Just Transition integration with support from the International Labour Organization and the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling.
The assignment is being carried out as a national initiative to translate Bangladesh’s NDC 3.0 Just Transition commitments into implementation-ready actions, anchored in social dialogue and evidence-based planning.
The consultation process includes a target group consultation to ensure that the perspectives of groups most exposed to transition risk directly inform the NDC 3.0 Just Transition implementation plan.
The groups identified for consultation include youths, women, informal workers, persons with disabilities and climate-frontline communities.
The process is intended to identify specific transition-related issues affecting these groups as Bangladesh works to prepare evidence-based policy and planning measures for a just transition.
