The discussions highlighted continued World Bank-Bangladesh cooperation on pollution prevention, alongside potential areas for future environmental collaboration.
Bangladesh’s Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo met a World Bank delegation led by Mara K. Warwick, Regional Practice Director of the Planet Department for the South Asia Region, at his office on Thursday, September 3.
The meeting focused on ongoing projects with the World Bank and projects that could be undertaken in the future, according to a press release from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
The World Bank expressed its commitment to continuing cooperation with the Bangladesh government to prevent environmental pollution.
Bangladesh’s State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam, acting secretary Dr Fahmida Khanom and Additional Secretary of the Development Division Dr Nurun Nahar were among the officials present at the meeting.
