ATEC Australia-International wins SDG award for clean cooking initiative

The recognition highlights how clean cooking solutions powered by waste-to-energy innovation can support the UN Sustainable Development Goals while improving access to affordable, sustainable energy in Bangladesh.

ATEC Australia-International Limited has won the “SDG Brand Champion in Affordable and Clean Energy” award at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2026 for its initiative, “From Waste to Wealth: Scaling Affordable Clean Cooking for Everyone.”

The recognition was presented at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2026, a national platform in Bangladesh that recognizes brands and organizations contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDG Brand Champion Awards recognize initiatives by businesses, non-governmental organizations, development organizations, trade bodies and brands that contribute to the implementation of the SDGs in Bangladesh.

According to the organizers, the awards assess entries based on four areas: SDG alignment, SDG impact, innovation and strategic implementation, and governance, communication and engagement.

The 2026 edition includes 19 award categories covering SDG-focused initiatives and sector-specific sustainability achievements. The categories include Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; Sustainable Community; Responsible Consumption and Production; Decent Work and Economic Growth; Climate and Environment; Affordable and Clean Energy; Sustainable Partnerships and Institutions; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; Women Empowerment; Most Sustainable RMG/Garment Factory of the Year; Most Sustainable FMCG Company of the Year; Most Sustainable Telecommunication Company of the Year; Most Sustainable Energy Initiative of the Year; Most Sustainable Financial Institution of the Year; Most Sustainable Real Estate Company of the Year; Most Sustainable Agricultural Company of the Year; Most Sustainable Electronic Item Manufacturer Company of the Year; Most Sustainable Manufacturing Company of the Year; and Most Sustainable Company of the Year.

Under the competition rules, participating organizations may submit multiple entries across different categories. A single entry may also be submitted in more than one category, with each additional category treated as a separate entry.

The awards are organized by the Sustainable Brand Initiative and Bangladesh Brand Forum under the Bangladesh Innovation Conclave initiative.
