The partnership will support editorial coverage, thematic white papers, social media documentation and post-event reporting ahead of Dhaka Climate Week 2027.
Dhaka Climate Week (DCW) and The Climate Watch signed a Memorandum of Understanding on September 16, 2026, formalising a media and communications partnership ahead of Bangladesh’s first city-wide climate platform, scheduled for January 17-21, 2027.
Under the agreement, The Climate Watch will serve as the official media and strategic partner of Dhaka Climate Week, with the two organisations committing to highlighting Bangladesh’s climate realities, frontline losses, innovations and adaptive solutions for a global audience.
The partnership is based on a shared view that Bangladesh is not only affected by climate change but is also a source of climate knowledge, adaptation practices and policy leadership. Both organisations said they would work to ensure that these stories are told by Bangladeshis, for Bangladesh and heard internationally.
The agreement provides for editorial coverage of Dhaka Climate Week programmes, the production of white papers on key thematic areas, social media documentation, speaker and session profiles and a post-event impact report to be published after the 2027 event.
The two organisations identified five shared values underpinning the partnership: editorial independence, evidence-based reporting, amplification of frontline voices, South-South knowledge exchange and accountability to Bangladesh’s climate future.
“This partnership is more than media coverage, it is about building a climate communications movement in Bangladesh. We are bringing together 15,000 people, 150 speakers, and 120 events in 2027. But the real impact of Dhaka Climate Week will be measured by what people know, believe, and do after the week ends,” said Wahid Hossain, Convener of Dhaka Climate Week.
Dhaka Climate Week 2027 is described as Bangladesh’s first city-wide climate platform, bringing together government, business, academia, civil society and young people across more than 120 events, more than 150 speakers and more than 15,000 participants.
The platform is partner-led, with organisations hosting and co-creating sessions aligned with their areas of expertise.
