The fellowship combines specialised training with editorial mentorship, story grants and awards, while offering top performers potential airfare support to COP31.

The Brighters Consortium has invited journalists, media professionals, freelancers and emerging storytellers in Bangladesh to apply for the Energy Media Fellowship 2026, an initiative focused on strengthening climate and energy journalism and supporting reporting on energy transition and just transition.

Selected fellows will receive capacity-building on Bangladesh’s energy landscape, renewable energy and energy transition, just transition, climate policy and governance, investigative journalism, data journalism, storytelling, multimedia reporting, fact-checking and media ethics.

Following the training, fellows will develop and publish stories with editorial and technical mentorship.

Each approved story will be eligible for a story production grant of BDT 3,000.

After the story production phase, an independent jury will assess published stories based on quality, originality, evidence and impact. Three best stories will each receive BDT 15,000.

Two fellows demonstrating outstanding overall performance, consistency, leadership and long-term commitment may also receive airfare support to attend COP31.
