Bangladesh adjusts fuel prices for June, keeps diesel unchanged at Tk 115

Bangladesh has revised fuel prices for June, increasing petrol, octane and kerosene by Tk 5 per litre each, while keeping diesel unchanged at Tk 115 under its market-linked pricing mechanism.

Bangladesh has kept the retail price of diesel unchanged at 115 taka per litre for June while adjusting the prices of other petroleum fuels in line with developments in the international energy market.

Under the revised pricing structure, petrol will be sold at 140 taka per litre, octane at 145 taka per litre and kerosene at 135 taka per litre, according to a government notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on Sunday.

The ministry said the newly adjusted prices will take effect from Monday, June 1.

The latest revision comes as part of the government’s regular fuel pricing mechanism, which aligns domestic fuel prices with trends in the international market.

The previous fuel price adjustment was announced on April 19. At that time, diesel was priced at 115 taka per litre, octane at 140 taka per litre, petrol at 135 taka per litre and kerosene at 130 taka per litre.

Under the new rates, petrol and kerosene prices have increased by 5 taka per litre each while octane has risen by 5 taka per litre. Diesel prices remain unchanged.

Authorities said the latest adjustment was made to maintain consistency with international fuel price movements under the government’s ongoing pricing framework.
