Youth People of Bangladesh forms new committee to boost environmental work

Youth People of Bangladesh announces its 2026–2027 executive committee, aiming to strengthen youth engagement, environmental advocacy and climate action through new leadership focused on social impact initiatives.

Youth People of Bangladesh has announced its executive committee for the 2026-2027 term, naming Mymona Akther as president and Sohana Islam Shuva as general secretary as the organisation seeks to strengthen its work on youth development and social impact.

The newly announced committee also includes Aftab Ahmed as vice president, Md. Nazran as organising secretary and Mahara Sahab as treasurer.

Other key office bearers are Sharmin Rups as environmental affairs secretary, Khadija Akter Mahima as climate and sustainability secretary, Siti Sorkar as awareness and campaign secretary, Nusrat Fatema Mahmud as waste management coordinator, Mohammad Hibban Islam as ICT and media secretary and Jannatul Ferdous Sameya as youth coordinator.

The executive members are Aimin Ahmed and Shariya Eshan.

The organisation said it hopes the new leadership will help it continue making meaningful contributions to youth empowerment, environmental awareness and positive social change.

Founder and Chief Executive of Youth People of Bangladesh Sidratul Munthaha congratulated the new committee and expressed confidence in its ability to advance the organisation’s mission.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected members of the Executive Committee 2026-2027. I firmly believe that this dynamic team will work with dedication, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility to take our organization to new heights.

“Youth People of Bangladesh has always been committed to youth empowerment, environmental awareness and positive social change. I am hopeful that under this new leadership, our activities will become even more dynamic and impactful.

“I wish the entire newly elected committee sincere best wishes and great success in their journey ahead,” Sidratul Munthaha said.
