The year-long programme will offer learning sessions, mentorship, field engagement and an alumni network for young people from coastal districts and Dhaka.
The Coastal Youth Fellowship 2026, a new youth climate leadership initiative by Greenman in partnership with the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, was officially launched at BRAC University on 9 August 2026 as part of the celebration of International Environment Day and Nature Conservation Day.
The year-long Fellowship aims to strengthen climate leadership among young people across Bangladesh’s 19 coastal districts, creating opportunities for them to learn, connect, lead, and take meaningful climate action within their communities. The programme will bring together young people interested in climate change, environmental protection, leadership, advocacy, and community development.
Throughout the 12-month programme, fellows will participate in 18 interactive learning sessions and 10 mentorship sessions, covering climate change, coastal resilience, sustainability, leadership, project development, communication, advocacy, and community engagement. Fellows will also have opportunities to lead environment and leadership sessions in schools and communities in their respective districts, participate in year-round events and campaigns, and engage in a residential field visit and graduation programme.
The Fellowship will further establish an Alumni Network for continued collaboration and provide successful graduates with opportunities to mentor future cohorts, creating a long-term network of young people committed to climate action and community development.
Young people aged 18–25 from Bangladesh’s coastal districts are eligible to apply. Youth from Dhaka District may also apply, while applicants from all academic and professional backgrounds are welcome. No prior professional experience is required. The application deadline for the Coastal Youth Fellowship 2026 is 12 September 2026.
