The students entered GIK Institute through merit scholarships and the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, with the institution providing academic and residential support.

Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIK Institute) has welcomed five Bangladeshi students who joined the Pakistani institution for undergraduate studies under merit and scholarship programmes aimed at promoting educational cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The students joined the institute for the Fall 2026 intake. One secured GIK Institute’s top merit scholarship after outstanding performance in the GIK Undergraduate Admission Test 2026, while four joined under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships for Bangladeshi Students, offered through the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor .

The Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Program enables Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education at leading Pakistani universities and is intended to support academic and cultural links between the two countries.

The students travelled from Bangladesh to Pakistan through arrangements facilitated by the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh and Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC).

They were received at Islamabad International Airport and later at GIK Institute by the GIK Admissions Team, which handled their admission formalities and coordinated arrangements for their transition to campus life.

The students were subsequently received by GIK Institute Rector Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad (Sitara e Imtiaz) and the institute’s pro-rectors. They interacted with the students and conveyed their best wishes for their academic journey.

The institute’s leadership stressed the importance of expanding educational cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh and welcomed the students as members of the GIK academic community.

GIK Institute said it had arranged hostel accommodation, mess facilities, academic guidance, access to modern laboratories and advanced learning resources for the students.

The institute provides undergraduate academic programmes supported by modern laboratories, faculty and research infrastructure, as well as opportunities for learning, research, innovation and technological advancement.

It also provides student societies, clubs, sports facilities, cultural activities and co-curricular platforms as part of its residential campus environment.

The arrival of the Bangladeshi students comes through the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and institutional merit scholarships, which GIK Institute said contribute to academic cooperation, regional connectivity and the development of future professionals.

The institute said it would support the students throughout their academic studies and personal development.
