Speakers at the UIU seminar examined environmental, social and economic challenges, drawing participation from academics, practitioners, faculty members, students and scholars from several universities.
The Department of Environmental and Development Studies at United International University held a seminar on “Rethinking Sustainability in the Era of Global Change” on 2 September 2026, bringing together academics, development practitioners, faculty members, students and scholars for academic exchange.
Participants came from different universities, including United International University, North South University and Independent University, Bangladesh, according to the organisers.
The seminar featured Professor Tapan Sarker from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and Arif M. Faisal, a development practitioner and adjunct faculty member at the University of Dhaka, as speakers.
Professor Niaz Asadullah served as panel chair.
The discussion focused on emerging environmental, social and economic challenges and the need to rethink sustainability in an era of global change.
