Applications open for Bangladesh Climate Media Fellowship for youth

The paid fellowship will provide mentorship, hands-on reporting experience and opportunities to publish climate stories while engaging with major climate events and collaborative investigative journalism.

Applications have opened for the Urban Environment & Climate Media Fellowship 2026, a paid full-time programme offering one young participant the opportunity to receive training and produce climate and environmental journalism.

The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of BDT 15,000 to BDT 20,000 and will be based in Agargaon. Applications will remain open until 11:59 pm on July 26.

According to the announcement, the fellowship is open not only to trained journalists but also to students, early-career writers and climate activists with an interest in storytelling. The programme will focus on investigative reporting on issues including deforestation, pollution, climate policy, disaster impacts, corporate greenwashing, environmental injustice and other underreported environmental topics.

The selected fellow will research and report on climate and environmental issues and produce original content in formats including articles, videos, photo essays or social media.

The programme also includes mentorship and training from experienced journalists and climate communicators, participation in climate-related events including COY, RCOY and COP-related spaces, collaboration on joint investigations with other journalists and publication of the fellow’s work through partner media outlets and platforms.

One fellow will be selected for the programme. Applications can be submitted through: https://forms.gle/2dHgLdk9hWxKGZZv8. The application deadline is July 26 at 11:59 pm.
